In 2022, 98 candidates sat 3 or 4 A-levels at NGHS. The average grade was A- with an academic points score of 45.47 and a L3VA score in line with national average (this can only be estimated because the GCSE class of 2020 did not sit GCSE examinations). Given the high starting points of students in our Sixth Form (their high GCSE results) their results are very pleasing. 

In 2022, 27% of A-level grades were A* and 85.4% were graded A*-B. 100% of students have attained the national required standard (Grade 4) in Maths and English.

Students who remained at NGHS from Year 11, and those who had Free School Meals all achieved particularly positive L3VA scores.

Retention rate in sixth form in 2022 = 99%. 100% of students left NGHS to move onto higher education, training or employment. Our Sixth Form Prospectus includes details of destinations and course types.

Particular highlights from our 2022 A-level results include:

  • In Psychology, 38% of students achieved an A*
  • In Maths, 66% of students achieved an A* or A
  • All Art & DT grades were A*-A
  • 50% of EPQs were graded A* and 98% A*-B
  • MFL students achieved 100% A*-C with 25% of German students achieving A*
  • Politics students achieved 100% A*-B.
  • We offer AS PE as an enrichment course. All five candidates achieved an A grade.
