Phenomenal GCSE Results!

Staff and students are celebrating sensational GCSE results at NGHS this year. Following on from a 9% rise in A-level results last week, the Year 11 students achieved just shy of 80% of their GCSEs at Grades 7-9 (formerly A*-A). Read more

NGHS wins National Enterprise Challenge

Newport Girls’ High School students have clinched the title of National Enterprise Challenge winners at Wembley. The team of Year 7 students (Ava, Charlotte, Hannah and Bethany) worked together to bring a new mascot for Ryman stationers to life. Read more

Primary Maths Challenge

On Thursday we welcomed students from Lilleshall Primary School, Moorfields Primary School and St Peter’s CofE Primary School to compete in the first annual Newport Girls’ High Primary School Maths Challenge. Read more

On Monday 22 April, in the early hours of the morning, a very excited choir and jazz band left Newport Girls’ High School and headed for New York City. Read more

GCSE Art Exhibition

Westminster Recognition

As well as being ranked #1 in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, NGHS was delighted to receive a letter from the Rt Hon. Nick Gibb MP concerning our excellent results in 2018 and English Baccalaureate entry in the top 4% nationwide. Read more

German Exchange ... fantastisch!

Our first ever exchange with Schloss Hagerhof (a Grammar School close to Bonn, Germany) took place in March. The school link came to fruition as our Headteacher worked at Hagerhof in the early 2000s. Here is a report of the visit from Honor in Year 10. Read more

U14 Badminton County Champions!

Last week our U14 Badminton team represented the Telford and Wrekin-Burton Borough Area at the Shropshire School Games after winning the TWSSA league and qualifying. The team competed against other schools from across the county. Read more

PE Dance Contest
