Careers Lead gets a welcome boost of her own!

20 May 2019

We congratulate Mrs Gill, our Careers Lead and Geography Teacher, who has been selected to undertake a funded postgraduate qualification in Careers Education at one of the country’s leading universities. Readers may recall that Mrs Gill led the first Midlands Speed-Networking Careers Event at NGHS in 2018 and plans are afoot for another BIG event in 2020. She is very much a driving force for a range of career options and providers and we are thrilled that her determination has been recognised.

Mrs Gill explains...

I was delighted to find out that I was one of 1,300 Careers Leaders in schools who have been chosen to study a level 7 qualification at the University of Warwick to support my role. My reason for applying, and the reason I am so pleased to have been successful, is that I want to see the careers provision here at School go from strength to strength. By learning from careers professionals in an academic context, the hope is that the provision for our students becomes even more personalised and thorough, backed by a robust strategy and monitoring processes, to ensure they get the very best advice and guidance for all their future study and career decisions.
