Over half term, a group of students who left NGHS in 1983 returned, together with some former teachers to tour the school. Miss Clarke was on hand to offer a guided tour of the buildings and answered questions about how the school has changed.
Organised by Sarah McAleer, guests included around 20 ‘old girls’ and five staff including Mr Rayner, Mrs Warner-Casson (former Deputy Head/Art teacher) and Mrs Mantripp (former Headteacher).
Sarah commented: We used all manor of detective work to try to reconnect including social networks, snail mail and door knocking. Amanda Cooke (née Pooler) was our Head Girl and she did a massive rallying round to find us all. We had a soundtrack created of all our favourite music from the time and someone even bought their old school blazer! It was a lovely day.
Former students are always welcome to contact firstname.lastname@example.org to keep in touch!
