16 December 2025

Lunchtime of 15th December saw a fantastic new event take place in the school hall with our first ever charity Christmas Fayre. Organsied by Head Girl Shaan K and the rest of the Head Girl Team along with Y12 student Evie D, there were literally hundreds of students from all year groups in attendance throughout lunchtime!
The event featured a host of stalls including cakes, festive craft gifts, book stalls, candy floss, Christmas cards and even a ‘Matcha’ stall. However, the highlight has to have been our very own Santa’s Grotto where students could donate to visit the man himself along with his elves and reindeer!
The Fayre was organised not only to spread a huge amount of Christmas cheer but it also raised the amazing amount of £967 to help two fantastic charities:
TEAM KENYA - is a UK charity, working with girls and women in rural Kenya. It provides tools to keep girls in school & families to live safely & sustainably.
FREDDIE’S WISH - helps UK parents who have lost a child of any age, with support at the earliest stages and throughout the ongoing effects of bereavement.
Find out more about them here:

We are so proud to support these two outstanding causes and be able to contribute to them. Based on the success of this year, we are almost certain to make our Christmas Fayre a regular event and continue to raise money at this time of year!
A massive well done to all of the event organisers, stall holders, participants and anyone else who contributed to make it such a fantastic event! A huge amount of work, time, effort and no little stress went into the organisation but the end result was more than worth it!
A more in depth report and loads more photo’s will be in our Newport News Christmas Special out on the last day of term – download it from the ‘for parents’ sections our website!
