Newport Girls' High School Celebrates Exceptional GCSE Results!

Newport Girls' High School is delighted to announce another year of outstanding GCSE results, reflecting the hard work, talent, and determination of its students. An impressive 76.4% of all grades awarded were at Grade 7 or above, with almost a third of all grades being the top Grade 9.

Among the many high achievers, Gwen Fernandes, Daisy Robinson, and Megan Royce each secured a full set of Grade 9s, a remarkable accomplishment that highlights their academic excellence. In addition, half of the Year 11 cohort achieved all grades at 7-9, underscoring the consistently high standards across the year group.

Headteacher Adam Jones praised the students and staff for their dedication and success:

“We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students. These results are a testament to their resilience, ambition, and the unwavering support of our teaching staff and families. To see such a high proportion of top grades is truly inspiring, and I congratulate every student on their achievements.”

The school continues to uphold its reputation for academic excellence and nurturing future leaders. Many students will now progress to Newport Girls’ High School’s Sixth Form, NGHS6, where they will continue their educational journey with confidence and ambition.

Mr Jones added:

“GCSE results day is a moment to celebrate not just academic success, but the personal growth and perseverance of each student. We look forward to welcoming them into Sixth Form and supporting them as they take the next exciting steps in their education.”
