Newport Girls' High School Celebrates Outstanding A-Level Results

Newport Girls' High School is proud to celebrate another exceptional year of A-level results, with half of all grades awarded at A* or A, and an impressive 78% at A*-B. These outstanding outcomes reflect the dedication, resilience, and academic excellence of our students.

Thirty-four students achieved all A* or A grades, with Annabelle Fairhead, Alice Lutzeier, Louisa Phillips, and Izzy Russell attaining a full set of A* grades.

Headteacher Adam Jones expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Year 13 cohort, stating:

“We are absolutely delighted with this year’s A-level results. Our students have worked incredibly hard, and their achievements are a testament to their commitment and the unwavering support of our staff and families. I am extremely proud of each and every one of them.”

Many students will now progress to some of the country’s most prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, to study a wide range of disciplines—from medicine and engineering to the arts and humanities. A number of students will also be embarking on highly competitive higher-level apprenticeships in fields such as law, finance, and media.

Mr Jones added:

“Results day is always a moment of reflection and celebration. Today, we honour not just the grades, but the journey each student has taken. Their success is richly deserved, and we wish them all the very best as they take the next exciting steps in their academic and professional lives.”

Newport Girls' High School continues to uphold its reputation for academic excellence and nurturing future leaders. The school community looks forward to welcoming the next generation of sixth formers in September.
