From the Headteacher
Hello and welcome to NGHS!
We are delighted that you are joining us and have accepted an place to start in September. Lots of students have taken up this offer so you will not be alone when you come to NGHS. We will also be sorting our Liverpool Weekend soon - this takes place in October and is great fun and a real chance to get to know lots of other students.
Below is the work we set for each subject in our sixth form. This bridges the gap from GCSE to A-level.
If you have any queries about joining NGHS in the meantime, please do contact us via schooloffice@nghs.org.uk until 21 July when term finishes and via exams@nghs.org.uk around exam results time.
Students who have a Kindle or the Kindle app may also like to download some of the Head Start to A-level guides in different subjects.

From the Head Girl
Hi, I’m Katy and I am proud to be Head Girl at NGHS. I joined Newport Girls’ in Year 7, and I am now in the sixth form studying Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level. I think I speak for all students when I say that Newport Girls’ provides a fun, safe and supportive environment. From the extremely diverse range of extracurricular clubs on offer during the lunch break and after school, to the highly entertaining and competitive House events every half term, it is fair to say there is always something for everyone to get involved in.
The standard of education provided to all students is second to none; after recently receiving the best results in the school’s history and being rated Outstanding by Ofsted, it is evident that at NGHS, everyone is given the greatest opportunity to thrive inside and outside the classroom.
It is such a tight-knit community, where students are able to make many new friends and memories before, ultimately, leaving the school as well-rounded young women with countless experiences and a fantastic education under their belt.
