The PE department aims to deliver a high quality PE curriculum which students enjoy and are able to achieve success in.
We do this by offering students the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and tactics within a range of different sports. In KS3, our focus is on promoting a positive experience of sport and the benefits of sport to health and wellbeing in order to ensure that students feel empowered to make informed choices about lifelong physical activity. We want our lessons to be engaging and enjoyable and allow the students to progress and improve their performance level further. Students have two lessons a week in Year 7 and 8. In KS4 (which begins in Year 9), students continue with this subject over two lessons as week, with the sports offered to students changing in KS4 to a more alternative rather than traditional curriculum.
Outside of lessons, students have the opportunity to participate in our wide ranging extra-curricular programme which includes lunchtime and after school clubs. Further information about these opportunities can be found on ….
