Admissions Appeals

Parents have the right to appeal against a decision to refuse their child a place at the School. If you wish to appeal, please contact our Admissions Manager on 01952 797550 to arrange for an appeal form to be sent to you. Completed appeal forms should be returned to:

Appeals for Admission to Year 7 in September 2024

The deadline for lodging appeals for September 2024 entry to Year 7 is 1pm on 31 March 2024.

Appeals forms should be returned to admissions@nghs.org.uk along with any supporting evidence. Completed forms will be acknowledged within 2 working days.

Appeals are coordinated by Telford and Wrekin Council who will write to families confirming the date of the appeal hearing. A minimum of 10 working days notice will be given advising the date of an appeal hearing. 

The Clerk to the Appeals Panel will send out decision letters to all parties within five school days of the appeal hearing wherever possible.

Late Applications

The deadline for lodging an appeal for a late admissions application is 20 school days following notification of an unsuccessful application.

Appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or 30 school days from the appeal being lodged.

In-year Appeals

The deadline for lodging an appeal for an in-year admissions application is 20 school days following notification of an unsuccessful application. 

Appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
