GCSE Results

In 2020, 84 students sat GCSEs at NGHS and achieved over one whole grade more than their government-generated expectation (Progress 8). These results are in line with previous years' results where at least 0.6+ of a grade has been added every year since the grading system was changed in 2017.

 In Summary:

  • No grade lower than a 5 was achieved across the board
  • In maths and physics, almost half the cohort achieved a Grade 9 (A**)
  • In the practical subjects of Art, DT and Music, no-one achieved below a Grade 7 (all A-A* grades)
  • Religious Studies was taken by almost all students and the results were very impressive with 95%+ achieving Grades 9-6 (A*-B)
