SCHOOL CLOSURE IN THE EVENT OF ADVERSE WEATHER AND TRANSPORT DISRUPTION
If we are faced with the very bad weather, we may need to close the school or dismiss students early. In the unlikely event that the weather is so severe, it is important that each student knows what to do to get home safely. I would be grateful if parents would take the time to organise the following:
The decision to close the school is never taken lightly and the health and safety of pupils and staff is our prime concern.
The school website (www.nghs.org.uk) will be updated to keep you informed of our decisions should conditions change. If you need to make special arrangements, please phone the school office (01952 797550).
If the weather is bad overnight and we decide transport difficulties and conditions on site and around the school are unsafe, then we will use early morning radio announcements and our website to inform you of arrangements. Under normal circumstances the caretaker will always open the school so girls may wait at school until they can make their way home safely.
